Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian artist and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco is classified as folk, alternative and rock but she also draws influences of jazz and hip-hop. Ani diFranco was the first artist to establish her own record label in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who came across Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian origin, while her mother comes from Montreal. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors. The track was released on her fifth studio album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in the year 1995. It was featured on the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variation of this song. In 2013, DiFranco apologised after it was revealed that she would be hosting the three-day event at a former Louisiana plantation for slaves. The workshop was cancelled, however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco apologized for her mistake a couple of days afterward. Though she's most well-known for her role as Little Folksinger. However, her work encompasses many different types. The collaborators she has with her vary from Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. New Orleans is where she lives. Ani DiFranco lives with Kristen Ford. At 14, she began to compose her own music. Teens were filled with performing them in bars and cafes. DiFranco began taking courses at Buffalo State College at age 16 following her graduation from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's custom Alvarez baritone design was conceived after several meetings we held with Chrys Johnson, who was the artist representative for Alvarez. The guitar is equipped with their System 600 amp and is constructed from solid woods. This includes an ebony-top cedar body, and sides featuring an ebony fretboard. DiFranco lives in New Orleans, with her family members: spouse and two children. Lefty is their dog companion who comes and goes while she talks. After three decades of her professional career DiFranco admits she has mixed feelings about looking in the rearview mirror. Punk/folk singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco attained musical heroine status at the age of 25 in the eyes of both her fans and critics after her seventh studio album Not A Pretty Girl in 1995 and even greater popular recognition with Dilate In 1996. The song, a pop rock hit from 1972 (You're a fine girl) was written by American group Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass.
