Moffat said that he chose Coleman to be the companion due to her ability to work best with Smith. In addition, Moffat noted that she talked faster than Smith. But she's been more well-known on television than in films. Eva's TV roles on Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and Detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami stand out. The character as the character Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children landed its the two Daytime Emmy nominations. This allowed her to show off her musical talent.
